Bacchus Agonistes: Metarealism and the
Future of Art
By Matthew Clemente
The world contains many books. The best books contain many worlds. It is up to the reader to decide whether Bacchus Agonistes is such a book. And if so, then the task before us must be to seek those worlds out.
Bacchus Agonistes is nothing less than a declaration of war, a call 'to resist the easy ironic sneer' and take up, not arms, but ourselves lightly, while we employ our arms instead seriously in the service of our work.
